Ever since we moved into our home this summer, we wanted to get a piano for our living room! There is a perfect spot for one against the wall, right in between our two built-in bookcases. In late August, Mike texted me that he found one (for free!) on the “letgo” app! He rented a U-Haul truck after work and with the help of a friend, transported it into our living room.
I loved the piano, but I wasn’t crazy about the color and how it looked in our living room. Then I came across this post from Bethany Menzel, a blogger I have been following for years! I loved the look of her white piano and decided to follow her tutorial!
I went to the paint section in Lowe’s and asked for the cheapest interior eggshell white paint available. I got a gallon of Valspar Pro for twelve dollars. After reading Bethany’s tutorial, I decided not to sand the piano. A lot of people were saying that it could ruin the sound. I covered the surrounding floor in old sheets, taped down the keys, and started painting! It took six coats. I really love how it turned out!
If you have any questions, let me know! Or if you know of a good piano tuner in the Buffalo area, let us know, too! Are you planning to paint your piano? We’d love to hear!
