Insights on Literature, etiquette, and Beauty from a Catholic wife and mom

Garden Roses III by Kara Hynes

For the past few months I’ve wanted to start writing “Friday Favorites” posts! Today is the day! These posts will include a short list of things that I have come across throughout the week that I find beautiful, informative, and helpful! Just a short list of recipes, books, ethical and sustainable shops, articles, collages, blogs, and pictures from Pinterest! This week I am feeling so inspired to both reevaluate our routine and keep our New Year’s resolutions! This time of year is so special. I hope your Friday is a beautiful one!

Finding Philothea’s Friday Favorites

1.) DIY Dyed Silk Ribbon Tutorial via 100 Layer Cake.

The most perfect and versatile winter wedding detail! Even though this tutorial is meant for brides to be (I love the look of this ribbon wrapped around the bride’s bouquet and the guests’ napkins!)  I think I may try this for a hair ribbon! I love ribbons and bows!

2.) Alphabet ASL Flashcards designed and sold by Free Pancakes.

The past few months I was frequently checking this website for their release of these Second Edition Alphabet ASL Flashcards for Peter! I was so excited when I saw them for sale a couple of weeks ago!

3.) Grapefruit and Honey Sparkling Lemonade Recipe from Trois Fois Par Jour.

I love citrus season and any excuse to use honey from our bees in a recipe!

4.) Watch Me Grow Tee designed and sold by Kristin Made.

I’ve been following Kristin and her husband Marcus on Instagram for the past year and was so excited when Kristin started her company, Kristin Made. I love her first product for a lot of reasons, but especially because it is handmade in Los Angeles using recycled cotton. Sustainable, ethical, and beautiful!

5.) Teas of the Boston Tea Party from Oliver Pluff & Co.

I first came across these when I was looking for a Christmas present for my brother! This set makes the perfect unique gift and reminds me of our spice rack!

6.) The Château de Gudanes Restoration.

A couple from Australia purchased this French Château in 2013 and awakened it’s beauty after years of neglect. I have followed the Château’s restoration from the beginning, and it’s beautiful to see all of their hard work come to fruition. Be sure to watch the clip about their new book – it is one of the most beautiful trailers I have ever seen!

7.) Garden Rose III Print by artist Kara Hynes.

Roses are my favorite flower, and this elegant print is gorgeous. I love the contrast of pink roses against the dark background. Flowers in the height of winter are good for the heart!
