I am a wife and mother that is passionate about sharing content that helps us each live a beautiful and virtuous life. As an etiquette instructor, I love to seek out the beautiful things that surround us. Insights on Literature, etiquette, and Beauty from a Catholic wife and mom

Mike and I are doing a Whole30 starting January 1st! The Whole30 is a food regimen that avoids dairy, wheat, and added sugar of any kind. It focuses on eating “whole” foods for thirty days: meat, vegetables, and fruit. You can learn more about the details and program rules here on their website.

This will be our second Whole30. We successfully completed one three years ago. The thirty days are hard! Really hard! But it truly was THE BEST we ever felt in our lives! The discipline needed for a Whole30 positively affects every aspect of your life – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually! Both Mike and I are feeling the need to do one again and the New Year seems like the perfect time.

We learned quite a bit from the last one we did (Mike wrote an entire post about it). This time we are going to be including an intention each day, a person to intercede for. Any time I can offer something up it helps me complete my goals so much more successfully! When I am tempted to give up I think of that person and pray for them. I offer up the trials and joys of the day for them. This will help so much during the Whole30 because as early as Day Two, I am tempted to give up!

Something else I will be doing this time is having scripts prepared to recite when I am tempted to give up! I’ve been doing “The Women’s School” (another post on that soon!) and one of the most transformative aspects of the courses are the scripts! I am working on writing some motivational statements to repeat when I am tempted to give up.

All you really need for the Whole30 is this book. But honestly, after looking at the official and updated Whole30 website, it contains everything you need, from the rules to the recipes, to successfully complete a Whole30! I just ordered this book and we have this slow cooker one, too! I love having recipes on hand and easily accessible!

We want you to join us! We experienced such incredible freedom and a huge shift in our health during the Whole30. Last time when we completed it in January, it motivated us for the rest of the year! We want you to experience the same thing!

Have you ever done a Whole30? Tell us! Share any advice or tips you have in the comments! We would love to hear from you!
