Insights on Literature, etiquette, and Beauty from a Catholic wife and mom

Finding Philothea August

This summer is flying by!

I am continuing to work on my ethically made scrubs line, Moscati Scrubs. Each day I am making progress as I call fabric suppliers and research potential production partners. There is so much to learn about the fashion industry! Pursuing this project is one of the most exciting and rewarding things I have ever done. You can follow along here!

Earlier this week I decided to become a Beautycounter consultant! I’ve been using Beautycounter products for a year and I truly cannot see myself ever using any other skin care and makeup products. Since using Beautycounter products consistently for the past year, I have had less breakouts, clearer, and more vibrant skin. I am so passionate about their mission of using only clean and sustainable ingredients. Beautycounter promises never to add any harmful or even questionably harmful ingredients into their products. I also have peace of mind knowing that what I am bringing into my home and putting onto my body is safe for myself and my family. If you’re interested in hearing more, please reach out! I am currently compiling a Beautycounter post, but in the meantime here are my three favorite products that I use everyday: Nourishing Cream Cleanser, Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion, and the Dew Skin Moisturizing Coverage!

For the past year we have been living in and taking care of a convent house while our friends, the Marian Franciscans, are away studying for their novitiate year. These beautiful women, under the direction and guidance of our bishop, created a religious order! They are returning for a visit next week and we are so excited to see them! Throughout the summer we have been preparing the house for their arrival as well as moving into our new home. We are grateful for this past year and for all of the memories we made in the convent house! We will miss living there yet we are so happy to have a house of our own to call home!
