Since Peter’s birth, I have only been able to wear about two percent of my wardrobe. The majority of my clothes are not breastfeeding friendly. I spent this summer looking for a dress that fit this season of my life. In August I came across Pyne & Smith Clothiers, a company created by a dressmaker stationed in California who learned how to sew from her mother and grandmother. I purchased this dress and am so grateful I did! It is a wonderful addition to my wardrobe – the perfect transitional piece to ease into autumn!
What initially attracted me to Pyne & Smith Clothiers’ dresses is that each one is made out of linen. I first learned about the benefits of linen when I was researching what type of carrier to purchase for Peter. Linen was rated the top fabric for both children and adults because of its non-allergenic features, its moisture absorbancy, and its strength. I love the texture of linen – with more wear and use it becomes buttery soft, which is essential when I hold Peter!
This is truly an investment piece for your wardrobe. It is well made and beautiful, versatile and elegant. It can be dressed up or worn to a casual event. I can wear it out on a date with Mike or play on the floor with Peter in it. I chose a dress that buttons down for the ease of breastfeeding. I love how it is loose enough to wear as a maternity dress in the future, yet it also shapes the body in such a beautiful, feminine way!
Pyne & Smith Clothiers reopens October 5th showcasing their Fall 2016 Collection. I cannot wait to see what is in store for this season!
