Insights on Literature, etiquette, and Beauty from a Catholic wife and mom

Happy May! This month we are celebrating Peter’s birthday, taking care of our honeybees, hosting a baby shower for a friend, and getting ready for the launch of Moscati Scrubs‘ pre-sales on Kickstarter!

A couple weeks ago we watched ‘The Wild Goose‘ together. It is a series about the Holy Spirit, and can be found on Formed. The joy and peace we have experienced through this series is both healing and profound. If you are feeling down, or stuck, or like your faith is lacking life, or if you don’t feel joy, or you desire to go deeper – watch this series!

We are thankful that the days are getting warmer! It’s wonderful to get outside each day with Peter, whether we go to the zoo, to the playground, or just outside in our backyard. After a long winter, it’s refreshing to be outside, soaking up the sun and fresh air! We just signed Peter up for summer soccer and swim lessons. I can’t believe how old he is getting! He will be three this week!

Sadly, our honeybees didn’t make it through the winter. Our new bees arrived this past weekend and we installed them in our hives yesterday! We’ve learned so much during our first year of beekeeping. Each time we visit our beehives we learn something new!

Today I ordered a new liturgical academic planner from ‘Blessed Is She’ for the remainder of this year and 2020! This past year I’ve been using their mini planner, which I loved, and am so excited to try the larger 8×10 one! I love these planners because they include a monthly, weekly, and hourly layout, a place for to-dos, groceries, meal planning, notes, prayer intentions, goals, reminders to start specific novenas, liturgical colors for the entire year, hand-lettered Saint quotes, Bible verses, and Saint Feast Days! I cannot wait for it to arrive!

Our first garment sample of Moscati Scrubs was made and sent to us for the initial fitting! It’s amazing to see what was a dream just one year ago become a reality! This month we will be preparing for launching pre-sales on Kickstarter! You can CLICK HERE to sign up to our e-mail list to find out more about Moscati Scrubs!

May 2019 Family Goals

  • Continue to work on Moscati Scrubs and make necessary changes to create final scrub sample.
  • Make this Pineapple Mango Salsa.
  • Create a Rule of Life for Summer. I just wrote a post on the ‘Blessed Is She’ Blog about how to create a Rule, you can read it HERE!
  • Whitewash the brick in our side guest room. (If you have any tips on how to do this we would love to hear!)
  • Celebrate Peter’s third birthday! When I asked him what he wanted he said, “A firetruck cake” and to “mow the lawn with daddy!” Win-win for everyone! 😉
  • Wake up early to work on PhD (Mike).
  • Make these No-Bake Chocolate Mousse Bars!
  • Spring clean our van!
  • Clean up our yard, plant some flowers, and lay down mulch.
  • Finish ‘Out of the Silent Planet.’
