Finding Philothea December Goals

Happy December! We just finished decorating our home, and it’s so cozy! It is our first Advent and Christmas in this house, and the first time Peter is getting really involved in our family traditions! He helped pick out and decorate our Christmas Tree yesterday, and loved making our beeswax candles for our Advent wreath today! It’s so fun seeing how much he has changed in just two years! This season is so special with him.

This month we are really focusing on family time, especially designated prayer time for Mike and me. Unfortunately, we fell out of our prayer routine together these past few months. This Advent and Christmas we are trying to set aside specific times during the day for both private prayer and praying together. It’s only been a few days and we already see the fruit of it!

We have two more weeks of BBG! Neither of us has ever been this consistent with a workout routine, and it’s changing our life! We are more energetic, and we feel stronger and happier. I can’t recommend it enough! You can learn more about it HERE.

We hope you have a beautiful Advent and Christmas! May it be filled with joy, hope, and peace! Know of our prayers for you, and please pray for us!

December 2018 Family Goals

  • Pray a Rosary every day this month.
  • Make these Chocolate Caramel Macarons!
  • Celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe with a special dinner! The table setting and decor in Lauren Conrad’s latest post is gorgeous. I would love to incorporate roses into our tablescape just like she did, in honor of the miracle of roses experienced by Saint Juan Diego!
  • Continue praying our Saint Andrew Novena.
  • Order and send out Christmas cards.
  • Get our Christmas shopping and wrapping done. For the past few years we have been getting each other four gifts, using the motto, “want, need, wear, read”. We buy each other one gift that we want, one that we need, a piece of clothing, and a book! It’s been a great tradition for us and makes us really intentional about our purchasing and gift giving!
  • Attend the Bedford Falls “It’s A Wonderful Life” Festival in Seneca Falls, NY!
  • Make Christmas cookies for our neighbors.
  • Put wallpaper up in Peter’s room.
  • Go caroling!
