Butterflies!

A couple of weeks ago, we visited the Butterfly Conservatory in Ontario, Canada. Mike had never been, and I wanted him and Peter to experience one of my favorite childhood memories! I grew up in the Adirondacks, but would visit Niagara Falls often. During our family trips, we would cross the border into Canada to visit the Conservatory. The Conservatory is so peaceful, and the butterflies are incredibly beautiful!

The Butterfly Conservatory is attached to the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. Mike and I love visiting botanical gardens, and I was so excited for him to see this ninety-nine acre garden! During the time we were dating and engaged, I worked the night shift as a nurse. Mike would often bring me to the Buffalo Botanical Gardens on dates. I was too tired to do much, and the gardens were so calm and peaceful! We ended up having our engagement photos taken there because we loved going there so much! Now that we are married, we always look for the nearest botanical garden during our family trips.

Mike and Peter loved the Niagara Conservatory and Gardens. Peter tried catching the butterflies as they swooped by us. My favorite picture that Mike took is when we first walked into the Conservatory and a butterfly flew right at us! Peter’s mouth dropped open in such a ‘Home Alone’ way – it’s one of my favorite pictures of him! We had such a lovely day together and we cannot wait to go back!
