A Bible and Catechism App

The first thing that came to heart and mind when I heard about the new Ascension App was Saint Peter’s words: “Always be prepared to make a defense to any one who calls you to account for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence.”

The Ascension App helps us to do just that. Within the App I am able to find answers to the most challenging questions about Church teaching and Scripture in a way that is understandable, and equips me to explain those truths to others. Now, in conversations, prayer, and times of reflection – in and out of the home – we have the ability to open, reference, and pray with the Bible and the Catechism!

My Favorite App Features

  • The full text of the Great Adventure Catholic Bible AND the full text of the Catechism.
  • Every episode of Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz (this App is the best place to listen to it)! Even if you’ve begun listening to it on a different podcast platform, you can import your progress to the Ascension App. I really appreciate the transcripts that are available for each episode.
  • Over one thousand commonly asked questions and answers about the Bible.
  • An interactive reading plan as well as daily readings with note taking functionality. I especially love the highlighting and quick navigation capabilities within the App!
  • Instantly search the Bible and Catechism to answer questions.

Growing in Faith

The Ascension App has been on my phone for the past month, and even in that short amount of time I have grown within my knowledge of the faith. My husband Mike downloaded it, too, when he saw me using it! We will be listening to The Catechism in A Year on it together. We would love for you to join us!
