Last November, Mike and I were living in Maryland. We moved there the day after our honeymoon last June and lived there for ten months. We loved living there, and the mild autumn and winter months we enjoyed made it hard to think about ever leaving! We ultimately did move, this past April, back to Mike’s home town in Western New York. We have been pleasantly surprised with this warm New York November – it has us reminiscing about our autumn in Maryland!
We know our days without snow are numbered, so we have been making it a point to get outside at least once a day. This morning, Peter and I met our friends at Knox Farm State Park for a hike. Visiting Knox Farm was one of our family goal’s for October, and since hiking there it has become one of our absolute favorite locations!
The grandeur and beauty of Knox Farm resembles an English countryside. This morning we walked along the winding pathways that lead to a fenced in pasture, and saw deer bounding into the woods in front of us. It felt so good to be outside, surrounded by wild life and nature! Though we will miss these warm November days, we cannot wait to go back when it snows for some snowshoeing or another hike!
