One of the greatest gifts to our family this year has been Peter’s attendance to Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. It’s hands-on, Montessori-like learning, and makes the faith come alive in a powerful way. Though he goes weekly to these classes, I wanted to supplement learning at home throughout the week. To do so, I use Into the Deep Catechesis. We love this curriculum and have grown so much as a family through these lessons.
Into the Deep just released a new unit study on the Beatitudes, Jesus’ most important sermon. This twenty lesson unit study on the Beatitudes teaches using examples of beauty in sacred art, music, nature study, poetry, and story. Geography, etymology, and philosophy are woven throughout, and there is a constant emphasis on prayer and the sacramental life.
Though it was created for children and teens, the entire family can benefit from these lessons. Something I really appreciate about Into the Deep Catechesis is that it tells the parent/teacher exactly what to say. This takes out the research and prep work, and allows everyone to fully enter into the lesson with joy and confidence.
Peter and I will be starting this unit study this week. I hope you and your family will join us! This unit study would be perfect to work through during Advent this year. You can use code CLAIRE10 for a discount. Get the unit study HERE!
