We have been married a year and a half today! Before meeting you, I remember thinking how silly it was when couples celebrated half anniversaries, but now I look for any excuse to celebrate our love and marriage! What an amazing journey this past year and a half has been.
I think of the moment I proclaimed my vow of love to you on our wedding day. It was the most wonderful, peace-filled, joyous moment of my life. I know today what I knew our wedding day – that you are the one for me – the man who will lead me to heaven, the man who I see the face of Jesus most clearly in.
I remember Mom calling me after we got back from our honeymoon. It was a week after our wedding day and she said she was still in awe of our wedding. She said it was one of the most heavenly, other-worldly moments in time she has ever experienced. That is exactly the feeling that floods my heart when I think back to that day. It was a holy, profoundly beautiful day.
I want each day of our marriage to be a little wedding day. I want to create a home with you that is heavenly and other-worldly, a sanctuary for our family. I want to be a witness of truth, beauty, and goodness to our family and friends. I want to show Peter that true love is real. In fact, that true love is the most real thing in life.
It is an honor to be your wife. And as a I promised you a year and a half ago, I proclaim again today. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life. Thank you for loving me.
I love you.
