This month’s album is a family favorite, but I think Peter likes it the most. October’s Album of the Month is Hang On Little Tomato by Pink Martini. This is an awesome album to dance and bounce around with Peter. I am not kidding – this kid LIGHTS UP when we put this album on. We play it in the car, we play it to put him down for naps, we play it when he wakes up!
When I met Claire, she put me on to Pink Martini. I must admit I never liked jazz, but this band is really something special. They are incredibly talented musicians that produce just plain fun music. We started to collect their vinyl records, and we have not been disappointed. The band goes the extra mile on their vinyl records, always including bonus tracks you can’t find otherwise. Hang On Little Tomato is released as a double album, which is great for sound quality. The closer you get to the center of a vinyl record, the faster the sound quality degrades since there is less space to put the same amount of sound needed for a track. Putting less tracks on each side helps keep the quality high for the whole record. This is why double albums are awesome! We hope you keep dancing along with us to this great album!
